This week we're putting the spotlight on Across the Horizon. Northern Spy Records and Bob Holmes, who is a member of SUSS and host of the Ambient Country Podcast, created the Across the Horizon series with the goal of emulating the kind of discovery that happens when artists sit down to chat about their influences. At the very earliest days of Surgery and as my taste was developing towards a more experimental side of music, compilations were key to introducing a world of new artists. Across the Horizon curates their releases in a way that maintains a consistent and compelling feeling if not a singular sound.
